ROBERT LEE

Robert Lee is an up-and-coming bassist in the Toronto jazz scene. As a current student at Humber College, he has studied both privately and in ensembles with Mike Downes, Kieran Overs, Lorne Lofsky, Ted Quinlan, and Neil Swainson. His original music is heavily influenced by artists such as Brian Blade, Christian McBride, Bon Iver, and The Bad Plus. The group was formed with the goal of writing and performing music that is influenced by both traditional jazz and modern genres. The band features Humber College students who are influenced by many styles of music, ranging from pop and folk to bebop and free jazz.
