Happy Hour Concert Series 2025: Quicksand Melodies
When Alex Kazak made the leap to Barrie, ON in 2024, he didn’t just sit around waiting for inspiration to strike—he dove headfirst into the vibrant jazz scene! As a seasoned musician and jazz pianist, he thought, “Why not stir the pot with some new projects?” Enter Alexandra Giroux, a fantastic singer and longtime collaborator. In a flash, Alex organized a jam session to scout for local talent. It didn’t take long for the rhythm to build—two amazing musicians hopped on board to form the House Band. First up, we have Joe Adamick, a phenomenal drummer and percussionist. If you think he can't handle the beat, just wait until you see him juggle drumsticks! Then there’s Kene Hyatt, our bass player with a heart of gold and improvisations so deep they could give the ocean a run for its money! And of course, Alexandra Giroux was there, bringing her enchanting vocals to the mix.
