Josh Cohen Quintet

Josh Cohen is an acclaimed bassist, composer, and bandleader whose innovative approach to music has garnered widespread recognition. His latest project, the Josh Cohen Quintet, showcases his dynamic jazz fusion compositions and features some of Canada’s most renowned musicians, including Jeremy Ledbetter (piano/keyboards), Rob Christian (woodwinds), and Lucian Gray (guitar). The group’s debut album, We Are Home, was recorded in 2024 and is set for release in Fall 2025, blending vibrant improvisation with cutting-edge arrangements. Josh’s distinctive artistry reflects his mastery of extended techniques and his ability to seamlessly blend genres. He holds a Master of Arts in Music Composition from York University and a Bachelor of Music from Humber College, where he received the prestigious Mike Downes Bass Award.
