Elizabeth Cormier Quartet
The Elizabeth Cormier Quartet is a small ensemble created in September 2024, mostly influenced by traditional vocal jazz music and inspired by the work of amazing vocalists such as Sarah Vaughan, Carmen McRae and Lorez Alexandria. As they have had the chance to also study with the great Ranee Lee for a few months, they are also greatly inspired by her work. They offer a unique experience, inviting you to discover the freedom and complexity of vocal jazz tradition. Through a broad repertoire, Elizabeth Cormier Quartet will present to you timeless standards, heartfelt ballads and captivating improvisations while also highlighting the complicity of the musicians. Performing together for a few months now and having performed in venues like the Upstairs Jazz Bar, they have built together a strong and rich group of young emerging jazz musicians. As a classic experience of jazz tradition balanced with our modern touch, the Elizabeth Cormier Quartet is composed of pianist Thomas Andersen, bassist Juno Hamilton, drummer Ryan Bennet and vocalist Elizabeth Cormier. All students in Jazz Performance at McGill University.
