Chardavoine & The Evolution


Haitian-born and Brooklyn-bred, Chardavoine is a dynamic guitarist known for his mastery across diverse musical styles and his pioneering work in the emerging genre of Haitian Jazz. He has collaborated with legends such as Grammy-winner Dave Valentin, Cornelius Bumpus of The Doobie Brothers, and actor Danny Glover, and has shared stages with icons like the Yellowjackets and Oleta Adams. Notable performances include Aretha Franklin’s birthday bash with Tito Puente Jr. Orchestra and opening for the Yellowjackets at the 2015 Port-au-Prince Jazz Festival. In 2023, Chardavoine was honored with a signature guitar line by Barrett Guitars. His album The Tribute highlights his talent as both a guitarist and a creative arranger, cementing his reputation as a leader in modern jazz. Among his accolades, he received an award from the Schomburg Center for his efforts with the American Red Cross, presented by jazz legends Max Roach and Bernard Purdie. Chardavoine continues to shape the future of jazz, combining his Haitian roots with innovative artistry.
