The Anthology Project

The Anthology Project is a new ensemble playing music in homage to stories, poems, and essays. The Toronto based band was formed by bassist and composer Wesley Collett-Taylor, inspired by Thomas King's assertion that "the truth about stories is, that's all we are". The project explores themes and motifs from works by writers ranging from 18th century essayists to 21st century TV writers, using improvisation as a vehicle for building narrative. Musically, the band draws influence from the spectrum of contemporary jazz musicians such as Donny McCaslin, as well as as funk and folk bands.

The band features some of Toronto's finest young musicians all of whom met at Humber College.
